Different text forms

Focus this week on understanding different text forms such as notes, lists, signs, and books. Help your child to see that all of these forms of text serve a purpose. When reading a book, ask your child why someone would write a book. They may say to be funny or to tell a story. Compare magazines to books and talk about how they are similar and different. Point out text on menus, signs, and notes so your child is exposed to as much text as possible.
