Letter-sound correspondence

This week’s lessons will focus on letter-sound correspondence. Five year olds are typically learning a great deal about letters and their sounds. They are learning to name and identify each alphabet letter, learning the difference between capital and lowercase letters and discovering there is a difference between letters and words. They are also learning to isolate initial sounds (and when ready, ending and medial sounds). The activities this week will help your child develop letter-sound correspondence and phonological awareness skills necessary for successful future reading adventures!
