Hey mom and dad we just want to say how much we appreciate all the little things you do each day to be a great parent for your child. A lot of those little things go overlooked. But it’s those little acts of love that will make your child successful for the rest of their life. Way to go!!
When reading with your child, ask your child to pause at each new vocabulary word. Have them look at the words in the sentence and the sentences before and after to try to decipher the definition of the word. This is called using context clues.
Time for an awesomeness review: Take some time today to think about something awesome, unique, interesting that each member of the family has done so far this week. Give out some high-fives, fist bumps, hugs, Oreo cookies or something appropriate to celebrate your family awesomeness 🙂
Buy a large bag of M and M’s. Count the total and sort them by color into bowls. Have your child write the fraction for each color and line them in order from least to greatest.
Brainstorm a verb for every letter in your name. Have your child do the same. For example: Mike: Move, Illustrate, Kick and Exercise.
Cut out an article from a magazine. Read the article with your child and ask them to write the letter N above the nouns and V above the verbs in each paragraph.
Hide a treasure for your child. Draw a map for child to follow directions to treasure. Use words like “go right at the steps, left at door.”
